You have prior art at the ready? Great! You're only 3 steps away from passing it on to us -- and joining the race for the reward
Before you get started, please take our Advisor Tip #1 to heart: submit each prior art reference as soon as you find it -- even if you think there may be more relevant prior art. This will ensure that you receive the earliest submission date for every reference to increase your chances of winning a Patent Study reward. (For more Advisor Tips, please click here.)
Step 1
Confirm that you have accepted the terms of the latest version of the Terms of Use, Compensation Agreement and Privacy Policy.
Step 2
Click your way through the yes/no Patent Study Questionnaire (you can view the Questionnaire for any Patent Study by clicking "Check Eligibility" within the Study) and confirm your yes/no answers. This gives you and AOP an opportunity to find out whether you're able to legally send us prior art for your chosen Patent Study. Your answers will be processed automatically to enable you to go to step 3 and complete your submission. Don't worry: even if it turns out that you cannot participate in a particular Study, you might still be able to participate in other Patent Studies. -- This is an important step that can protect you and ARTICLE ONE PARTNERS.
Step 3
Upload files or send links to your prior art. You can submit any number of references. Be sure to add information on the reference(s) you are submitting. After you have completed this step, you are invited to continue to submit Prior Art until the Patent Study's expiration date. Steps 2 and 3 are repeated for each submission.
What happens next?
After the Patent Study's expiration date is reached (usually 4 to 6 weeks from its posting), AOP completes a patent validity analysis.
Once completed, we will announce the outcome of our analysis for the Patent Study, including whether it has been won. We strive to make the announcement as soon as possible -- generally up to 8 weeks from the expiration date.
If the Patent Study has been won, AOP will disburse Patent Study Fees and determine Advisor Points in our Profit Sharing Plan within 3 to 6 weeks of the announcement.
